G Jones keeps the techno-futuristic bass vibes alive on his newest EP, Tangential Zones, released this week. His latest release is the epilogue to his mind-bending 2018 album The Ineffable Truth. The five tracks comprising Tangential Zones do indeed continue the development of G Jones’ psychedelic signature sound.
This EP includes the absolutely cerebral track Dark Artifact, released in October. Dark Artifact best represents G Jones’ unique brand of techno-infused, bass-driven sound designs.
Every track on this EP is arranged for continuous playback, so make sure to listen from front to back. The transition between Dark Artifact and Dream Fatigue is the best example. As Dark Artifact ends, Dream Fatigue takes on the key elements and morphs them into a bouncier trap beat.
Listen to Tangential Zones below for 17 minutes of experimental genius. And speaking of experimental music, G Jones recently collaborated with his close friend and Portland-native producer Eprom on his album Aikon, which Dance Music NW did a review for. So go check that out too for some more underground bass music gold!
Pacific Northwest fans interested in realizing the hype around G Jones can see him live at Contact Festival in Vancouver, BC. Tickets are still available for the massive late-December EDM festival.
