Kieran Hebden aka Four Tet has uploaded a one-hour live set from Japan. The show was apart of the Hostess Club Weekender Festival which was held in Ebisu Garden Hall in Tokyo. The date of the show was December 1st. Other acts slated for the festival include Delorean, Austra, Sebadoh, and Omar Souleyman (who’s latest album was produced by Four Tet).
Over the years Kierian has been producing his own music under the moniker Four Tet and through this has trained his powers of controlling sound and music. This live set is a showcase of his skills at their peak and most realized. Starting off with the excellent and meditative Ba Teaches Yoga from his latest Beautiful Rewind, this set wrangles your attention as it flourishes into a phenomenal display of foggy ambience and 21st century jazzy drum and bass. Most of the set is made up of Four Tet’s released material from Beautiful Rewind, Pink, with some exclusive remix material also dropped in. This live set is a form of personal expression, communicated fearlessly with an audience on a level that feels intimate and psychokinetic.
Maintaining his brand as a dj who doesn’t just play an average dance set, Four Tet controls the sounds at his disposal with a wizard like ability. Certainly an enjoyable listen for anyone and a transcending adventure for all. You can download the set here.
