Four Must-See Sets For Resolution 2017

With Santa heading home to the North Pole, and our presents unwrapped, it’s time to put Christmas in the rear view and get our minds right for the new year. Resolution 2017 anyone?! Featuring arguably the most star-studded lineup in the event’s history, this weekend’s Reso is set to be one for the ages. From trance to twonk, there’s a little something to satisfy all tastes. When the lineup was released last month, our eyes immediately locked in on the headliner: Above and Beyond. Not to be outdone by the famous British trance trio, these four performers below are sure-bets to light up WaMu. So get ready to say goodbye to 2016, because it’s time to start the new year by going in hard!

YELLOW CLAW

When it comes to going hard, Yellow Claw sets the example. From inciting mosh pits to crazy 40 foot front flip stage jumps, the Amsterdam Trap Music pioneers bring the rowdy wherever they go!  Describe by Rolling Stone as the “frantic spring of Amsterdam hardstyle, the deep drops of American trap music and vuvuzela-style electro-horn melodies”, the Y.C. sound is just as energetic as their stage antics. Expect to break a sweat, and shake that ass, when this Dutch trio takes center stage in what should be one of the more interactive sets of the night.

Not going to Reso, but still want to see Yellow Claw? Catch them at Foundation Nightclub’s New Years event! Act fast though, tickets are down to the last tier!

BRILLZ

Twonk team assemble! After bringing the heat to the ShowBox SoDo earlier this year, Brillz will be making his Seattle return for round two of trap and booty-shakin goodness. What is Twonk? “It’s whatever you want it to be”, Brillz told us in an exclusive interview. Still confused? Find out for yourself when he takes the Reso stage!

SOUND REMEDY

Sound Remedy joins DJ Fresh and Avicii as electronic dance music artists who, this year, have announced retirement from live shows. Resolution will be Sound Remedy’s last public performance ever, a move that surprised fans when it was announced in August. We can’t recall an artist who chose Seattle as their ooh-rah, before riding off into the sunset; so whether you’re familiar with him or not, this set should definitely be as emotional as they come.

SLUSHII

Move aside Chainsmokers, you aren’t the only ones who’ve had a big year! Slushii came from out of nowhere to burst onto the scene in 2016, turning heads with a plethora of remixes, all stamped with an adorable slush cup character. After keeping his true identity hidden from the public eye, Slushii, real name Julian Scanlan, has stepped out from behind the logo, taking to the road to “slushitup”. After making his Vancouver debut at Contact this week, Scanlan will head south to make his Seattle debut at Reso. We’re eager to see what he brings to the table as we formally say “hello!” to this bright, young talent.

Who are you looking forward to seeing at Resolution? Drop a comment and let us know!
