Form Control, aka Rob Yake gifts us with his brand new spacey, orchestral, dubstep track A Very Old Saying. The DJ/ Producer is now situated in Victoria, Canada, and spends his time infusing his music with a uniqueness that is unparalleled in the dubstep community. A Very Old Saying is definitely one of his lighter tracks, and makes us wonder if he’s hinting at a change in direction with his music. Descriptions like “bass and violence“, and “Violently euphoric party fuel” on some of his most recent tracks paint a much different picture than what Form Control has given us today.
We’ll start off by saying the track is extremely powerful, in the most controlled way. An ominous intro lets the mind imagine for itself, what is about to unfold. If you know Form Control’s music at all (Heavy Robot Battlefield Dubstep), the drop will have you just as surprised as we were. Rob has really struck gold here. His driving space-step that transitions into some form of an orchestral spacey-synth combination is pleasing to the ears. This is definitely a positive new direction, and we can’t wait to hear what builds off this new sound next. Check out the track below, and did we mention it’s a free download?
