Rain is coming to the northwest and it’s going to be heavy. We’re not talking about the weather, we’re talking about the talented DJ Phutureprimitive (Rain). In a few short days (December 10, 2015) Phutureprimitive will be at Neumos performing with openers Bass Physics and HZ Donut. Doors open at 8 p.m. so make sure to be early!
Phutureprimitive got his start back in the 90s and continues to grace the stages with his immersive sound. His music has a way of reaching deep into ones Sub Concious and evokes primal emotions by often blending vocals, sounds of the future and trance-inducing drum beats.
His sound is reminiscent of ambient psytrance with some elements of dubstep. And out of respect for the artist we should add that he can often mix it up and rock a track that samples anothers’ work into his own and, therefore, shouldn’t be labeled simply as just another psytrance artist. He understands and grasps the fluid nature of the music and plays to the audience in a way that is truly moving.
Having performed amongst other great artists like Kaminanda and Shpongle, Phutureprimitve has perfected his style for music, like the abovementioned. He takes the listener on a journey and often can bring one to elevated states of consciousness given the proper environment/setting.
So if you consider yourself a fan of electronica, or even just music in general, be sure to grab you tickets here and for only $17 how can you not go? So grab your friends, duct tape, and a sharpie and come DOYD with the one and only who started that culture. If you don’t know what that is be sure to make it to the show and there you can delve deeper into the wonderful and freeing realm of dance music!
