Harley Streten a.k.a. Flume has been killing it with these high-profile remixes. His recent take on Lorde’s Tennis Court brings Generation Y to a whole new level of dance and has us moving like never before. Flume’s latest remix project tackles Chet Faker’s Gold and believe us when we tell you it doesn’t fall short of amazing.
Nicholas Murphy (Chet Faker) is one smooth producer – he and Flume have some real chemistry in the music department and also happen to be close friends. After realizing the two Aussies make a fire team, Murphy and Streten released an EP together at the end of last year called Lockjaw. The EP received positive attention and had many listeners exploring the other musical styles of the producers.
Gold is one emotionally charged and polished piece. Flume works best when he foregrounds Chet Faker’s sultry and soulful inflections. A grouping of rising and waving futuristic sounds embed themselves into euphoric bass-line which we can not stop listening to. Everything these two touch is…well, gold. This track is truly an aurelian dream. Midas himself would have this one on his favorite playlist.
A digital download isn’t available in the US yet, but keep an eye out for the nationwide release soon!
