If your route takes you through Reno, en route to Las Vegas, stop by nearby Virginia City to get a taste of the old West. Once serving as an important industrial center between Denver and California’s Bay Area, this former mining town is full of stories. Tales about gambling, silver mines, prostitution, ghosts and more can be discovered at Virginia City’s refurbished saloons and museums.
