Excision’s set in The Village at Shambhala is a must-see for any basshead, acting as the flagship mix of the year for all of bass music. Having had a chance to see it firsthand last month, we can say with absolute certainty that there’s nothing quite like head-banging along to the eclectically filthy journey through dub, trap, d&b, and everything in between.
For the rest of us who didn’t get a chance to make the journey north to Shambhala, Excision has at long last made the full mix available for download, making for what can only be described as basshead Christmas. 2014’s edition features 90 minutes of colossal bass, heavy drops, and all the signature touches that have made the Canadian bass master the premier tastemaker of the genre. Anything is fair game, from Doctor P and Flux Pavilion’s remix of Dillon Francis’ Without You, to classics like Destroid’s Raise Your Fist, along with plenty of brand new music to boot.
