Advancing quickly onto the dance music scene is Boise based DJ, and producer, Shawn Grove, better known as EvoluShawn. Fresh off the release of his Space Clash EP comes his mind melding new single 2 Faced.
Who is EvoluShawn?
Delivering a sub style of drum and bass, 2 Faced features a half time tempo that pulses jungle vibes. This bass prodigy takes free style bass to new levels with his genre diversity, touching on everything from glitch hop, dancehall, and drum and bass.

Deft Collective got next?
Developing your sound as an independent artist isn’t easy, and EvoluShawn surrounds himself with fellow creative minds. As a member of the hand-picked music and art cooperative Deft Collective, he is one of only ten select artists. Scoon, Thew and Kid Koma are some of Deft Collective’s other supported names, outlining their own rise from the underground with Deft Collective’s help.
Established in 2018 Deft Collective’s mission is to, “Provide a platform for underground artists to showcase their talents and accelerate their exposure to their respective industry.”
As a creative and forward thinking artist EvoluShawn has worked to develop a diverse platform. Since December of 2017 EvoluShawn has been an active member of the France based label Forest Biz. Their main aim is similar to Deft Collective’s in which they, “specialize in encouraging artists to push their own boundaries, creating a platform where their talent is showcased to the world.” Their label is home to his Space Clash EP, featuring a premiere from FUXWITIT, (on Into The Darkness). His Space Clash EP was so hot it received its own review in DJ Mag’s December 2019 edition.
Topping off EvoluShawn’s creative influences is Canadian talent agency Triple A. Another like minded collective, Triple A is operated by music industry vets and serious music lovers. Endorsing nearly 40 artists Triple A focuses, “On growing both our talent and our company with integrity and care.” Utilizing all of these helpful advocates has helped EvoluShawn gain recognition quickly. He’s supported the likes of Buku, Mr. Carmack, Zeke Beats, Um.., and more. As a hot new favorite of Dance Music NW we plan to keep our eye on EvoluShawn’s rise!
