Ahh, festival season. That time of the year every music fanatic and raver longs for. The time when the birds are chirping and the warm breezes carry you into the heat of the night; it’s the perfect summer dream. That is, until now! SnowGlobe Music Festival is taking everything you expect from a festival and completely redefining it. Say goodbye to crop tops and board shorts, ladies and gentlemen. Get your snow boots, ski jackets, and – pro tip, warm socks – out of your closet. This New Year’s Eve, we’re taking you to California’s south Lake Tahoe, where the music is so loud it resonates across the water, and the temperatures drop as low as the bass.
In 2011 SnowGlobe created its own world in the land of festivals. They came in hot with an avalanche of headlining acts such as Bassnectar, Pretty Lights, and The Glitch Mob. Year after year, they continue to rock New Years, but we don’t think we’ve seen a lineup this prestigious in quite some time. Skrillex, Flume, Atmosphere, and Zedd are just a few names to toss around from this year’s lineup. Can you think of a better way to spend New Year’s weekend than shouting out “Yo Skrill, drop it hard”, while watching shredders tear up the Snowboard kicker by the mainstage? What about crowd surfing to your favorite jams in the snow? Sign us up!
This event takes place during the heart of winter and it is expected to be VERY cold, so leave the tent at home, and cash in for the hotels. While there is no public parking available on the festival grounds, there is a pick-up and drop-off site. Here, you can be transported back and forth between the festival via the SnowGlobe shuttle if you choose to purchase a shuttle pass. This is highly recommended for your safety, and is a great way to meet new friends pre and post-festival. Due to the hype of this year’s event, three day passes have already sold out! But not to fear, for Dance Music Northwest and TurnUpp have combined forces to bring you an exclusive VIP ticket giveaway! The giveaway does not include travel or housing costs, but you can conveniently find nearby hotels on the SnowGlobe website.
Now if this event doesn’t excite you, we aren’t really sure what will. A limited amount of single day passes are available, so don’t sleep on securing yours, and we will see you in South Lake Tahoe for the 2014 SnowGlobe Music Festival!
Important things happen in Pacific Northwest nightlife, and DMNW will send you alerts!
