When we heard that Eric Prydz had been asked to do the first ever One Mix on Apple Music’s Beats One radio station, we were nothing short of elated. With Generate still stuck in our head, we were happy to see not only the One Mix available to us, but also the release of Pryda 10 Volume 1 from his Pryda alias.
Pryda 10 Volume 1 is the sum of four tracks, in that classic hypnotic minimal Pryda style that we love. And the One Mix has no shortage of Pryda tracks, in fact they account for the majority. Perhaps this was a move to help promote the coming release of Pryda 10 Volume 1, and, honestly, we don’t mind because we love Eric Prydz no matter what he’s called.
Earlier this year when Prydz went on his Generate Tour, we couldn’t have been more heartbroken that he skipped over the Northwest. We haven’t seen him anywhere close to Seattle since Paradiso 2013. Some of us took it upon ourselves to make the journey over to Vancouver, BC in April to catch what was only a 90 minute set at Seasons Festival. We can only hope that this means he’ll make it up to us in a big way sometime soon, maybe in the form of an open-to-close set? Keep your fingers crossed, guys! After all, Gareth Emery heard our plea.
What do you think of the new Pryda tracks? Would you go open-to-close with Eric Prydz if he came to the Northwest?
