Look out, bass world. The UK transplant of another dimension, Eluusif, has taken over your sound system, eager to spread his message: Aliens Do It Better. In order for us to decode the foreign concept, the masked mystery man Eluusif produced the message in musical format, inside the one genre that connects the dance music world to the unknown – dubstep. With grinding bass lines, robotic voice-overs and a fusion of earth-friendly flavors, Eluusif phones home to many bass-lovers across the globe, and his message is well-received. Similar in style to Xilent, Knife Party, and other human-bass hybrids, Eluusif’s newly-released EP offers a collection of humorously-titled tracks, including Hair Like Skrillex, Justin Bieber Is An Android and No I Don’t Wanna Be Your Facebook Friend. Although he began orchestrating part of the EP in 2012, Eluusif has the finished collection officially polished, along with computer animated music videos featuring alien creatures unknown to our world. But what is most vital of all is the confirmation message that dance music was, indeed, created by cats.
With so much of the same sound spewing out of the decks show after show, it’s refreshing to hear a new spin on the genres of bass that Aliens Do It Better offers us. Sometimes, it takes a foreign perspective to open our minds and be able to laugh at the trends of pop culture, but it takes a superb talent to orchestrate that perspective into fierce electronic sound that we can thoroughly enjoy. We hope this is the first of many out-of-this-world releases of Eluusif, but we would be ok if this is the last-ever mentioning of Justin Bieber (and if you can hear us, dear alien species, please take your android pop star back, please! We beg you!). Check out the Aliens Do It Better EP in its entirety below, download with the budget-friendly “name your price” option, and support the creative alien arts!
