Insomniac Events and EDC-Las Vegas utilized the photo-messaging application Snapchat to announce several initial members of their 2014 lineup. Facing criticism and impatience regarding the lineup release, Insomniac Events gave fans and attendees a sneak-peek of what is to come on May 27th, when the full EDC-Las Vegas 2014 lineup is scheduled to be announced.

Using the attention and visibility from Electric Daisy Carnival-New York, Insomniac Events drew attention to their Snapchat account via the EDC Twitter account shortly before the string of artist announcements. Then, one-by-one, several artists that will be performing at EDC-LV between June 20-22 were released over the course of several hours.
As well as Andrew Rayel, GTA, and Cedric Gervais, 11 other acts were released via Snapchat. Those artists were: Hardwell, Dannic, Krewella, DJ Snake, Martin Garrix, Alvaro, UMEK, New World Punx, Orjan Nilsen, Bassjackers, and Quintino. No confirmation or mention of the artist release via Snapchat came from any other Insomniac Events related social media sites, or the official EDC-Las Vegas website.
