EDM has taken the world by storm in the last decade, and only seems to be growing larger as electronic acts continue to infiltrate the charts, year after year. While the boom in America has slowed since its beginnings, it seems to just be getting started in China. Insomniac is the latest organization to stake their claim in the scene, with EDC China 2018.
Whether you are an active or casual participant in the U.S. EDM scene, you’ve no doubt heard of Insomniac Event’s Electric Daisy Carnival. What started as an underground rave in the late ‘90s eventually grew into an internationally renowned series of events, that brought some 400,000 participants to its flagship Las Vegas location in 2017.
Happy Holidays, Headliners! As we wrap up the year at Insomniac HQ, we’ve got a ton of news that we’ll be sharing in the new year. Here’s a little sneak peak: we’re working on bringing EDC to China in 2018!

EDC China is a collaboration with China Zebra Entertainment Enterprise, and will take place in Shanghai on April 29-30, 2018. The two companies are hoping to push the development for both the local and international scenes, and also announced they will be hosting contests for both DJs and Producers.
It’s always exciting to see something you love grow and expand across different regions and demographics. Although EDC China may be a bit of a trip for our PNW readers, you can still catch the full-blown experience at EDC Las Vegas on May 18-20 this year.
