It’s challenging to name an artist who has released as many new projects in the past few years as Dr. Fresch. His new single Ravewerk, with LO’99, stands out as a feel-good track.
The short melody riff popping up throughout the song backed against a booming four-on-the-floor beat reminds the listener of the early days of house music. Synths and short, repetitive lyrics complete this as a summer rave anthem reminiscent of a better time. Listen to Dr. Fresch featuring LO’99’s new track Ravewerk below:
Since winning Insomniac’s Discovery back in 2013, California-based Tony Fresch has amassed a fortune of released music. Including a radio show, compilation albums featuring up-and-coming artists, and his own EPs and singles, Fresch has remained an active presence for house music and hip-hop hybrids.
Dr. Fresch also resonates well with the Pacific Northwest crowds. Playing a mean festival circuit including Paradiso and Shambhala, our corner of the country has had ample opportunities to enjoy a Fresch set. Additionally, Dr. Fresch also stopped a few times through Seattle in recent years. Beyond his own performances, he also featured PNW favorite Kendoll on his imprint’s first compilation album The Remedy.
While it’s uncertain when Dr. Fresch will visit the northwest again Ravewerk is a hopeful reminder that he’ll be back. Combining a modern-day sound with old-school flavor, this track might just be the new anthem for at-home raves. Listen to Ravewerk, out now on Insomniac.
