If you’re even remotely into trap music, electronically-tinged hip-hop production, and/or just hard-hitting beat music in general, you absolutely won’t want to miss Scottish producer Hudson Mohawke‘s upcoming show at The Crocodile this Wednesday, October 14th. Touring in support of his sophomore full-length LP Lantern, released in June of this year via the prestigious Warp Records, HudMo will be blowing the roof off of The Crocodile, and will be bringing R&B singer, producer, and renowned pop songwriter The-Dream along for the ride.
Having been around the block DJing and producing from a very young age, Hudson Mohawke has been lauded by fans and critics alike for his typically zany and hard-hitting production style, in which bright, nutty synthesizer work is matched with loud, punchy percussion, and sometimes very off-kilter samples. He’s lent his production to such rappers as Drake, Pusha T, Kanye West, and Azealia Banks, and is also one half of the trap music duo TNGHT, alongside Lunice, a candidate for the best and most interesting trap music project we’ve seen in years. HudMo is also known for his raucous live shows, in which the music is emphasized, with a flashy performance kept to a minimum.
While HudMo’s music tends to feel festival-sized and massive, getting to see him in a venue as intimate and small as The Crocodile will surely make for a great experience. We hope you’ll join us for his performance this Wednesday night.
(Tickets are priced at $20, and are available at this location. For more information, consult The Crocodile’s website here.)
