British duo Disclosure has teamed up with slowthai and Portland’s own Aminé to produce the all-out house heater that is My High. As the second single from their forthcoming Energy LP arriving August 28th, My High is the mega collaboration none of us were ready for. In no time at all Disclosure will have bobbing to the bouncing, 90’s-esque drum and bass/techno beats. Of course, the only two rappers who could match the energy of My High are Aminé and slowthai, whose quick, airy lines go off with the warning, “please don’t f*ck up my high.”
Disclosure lands My High in the hip-house genre, bringing us back to the big beat/house styling of the Chemical Brothers. In our honest opinion we think this song could get really big. If there aren’t any new TikToks featuring this track yet we’re sure they’re headed our way soon, as it sounds like the next summer anthem. As crazy as this year has been so far, My High does a great job capturing the feeling of something spun out of control, as we try to keep our heads held high. It arrived in style with its own official music video filled with lawless mayhem. Give My High a listen below!
Kicking off with the unmistakable sound of a car crashing, this video is outrageous to say the least. Definitely filmed pre-quarantine, My High‘s music video features both Aminé and slowthai. Each shot is wilder than the next as a gurney strapped hospital patient goes on the ride of his life. Some of you may recognize Aminé’s influence in this, as his music videos are always creatively amusing. Hopefully we get to hear more creative gems like My High when Disclosure’s Energy LP arrives this August! Fans can pre-order Energy now by heading over to Disclosure’s website!
