Diplo’s Super Mega Ultra Giant Mad Decent Party Festival has been canceled just 10 days before it was scheduled to take place. The outrageously named event was nicknamed Mad City for short, and from July 20-21 in Foxborough, MA partygoers were promised two days of unheard-of festivities. That included go-karts, paintball, and even the world’s largest bounce house. However, citing “circumstances beyond our control”, the event is no longer.
The pressure to host an incredible experience for your fans is huge, and Mad City stepped up to the plate with a massive lineup featuring enough top artists to cover multiple genres. The team scheduled huge headliners such as Billie Eilish, G-Eazy, Major Lazor and Miguel. All ticket sales are being refunded via Front Gate.
Given that ticket sales began back in April, it’s safe to say many attendee’s locked in travel plans far in advance. Losing money on reservations from flights to hotels is a sure way to disappoint fans. It goes to say that Diplo’s usual success of hosting Mad Decent Block Party’s makes this a shock.
