Argument #1: Kandi is being banned so that people only come for the music.
Specifically in Diplo’s case, this argument is particularly hilarious. For someone whose Instagram consists of women’s butts, all gyrating to the same one or two songs over and over again, it sure seems like Diplo is doing what he does for the music and only the music, right? Why aren’t we banning twerking? When you’re not even facing the DJ booth because your butt is, I bet there are some people who would say that that’s not a part of being there for the music. Diplo tells his fans to express themselves, but then he limits this expression to only doing so in a way that he approves of. That’s not freedom of expression: it’s making people do what you want because it’s all you are comfortable with.
It’s all about the music.
