As a growing dubstep sensation, Dion Timmer is doing all the right things. It’s been four years since the release of his first single Panic, which brought the then-16-year-old Dutch DJ/producer some serious recognition.
Collaborating with artists bass titans like Excision, Snails and Bro Safari has helped the now 20-year-old Timmer to the front lines of the dubstep scene. The very extra DJ is making moves now, with the release of his latest single Sanctuary.
Released on Deadbeats label, this heavy and mystical track is part 1, of 14, to his debut album Enter Achroma.
Opening up with some otherworldly vibes, Sanctuary sets the tone for Timmer’s new project. Right from the start, he puts down a building beat- making you feel as if you’re in a rocket ship readying for take off. Mysterious and melodic voices fade through this epic build up, giving way into a truly cinematic first drop. The track calms momentarily into an ethereal vibe before rebuilding the first drop with some very extra variations. Sanctuary hits hard and heavy, with a unique, and innovative sound, that Dion Timmer is known to deliver.
While sharing Sanctuary‘s release Dion Timmer adds, “I wrote this song a year ago on tour after playing a show.” We’re sure that sitting on a track this good for so long will lead to some “extra” modifications while on tour. Enter Achroma‘s release date is still to be announced but is expected to arrive this Spring.
