If there’s one thing better than cutting-edge, boundary pushing music, it’s seeing said music in live, local venues. Historically, Seattle residents get to experience a deluge of indie electronica in September over the course of the legendary 5-day Decibel Festival. However, the festival has just announced a micro-event taking place this spring. This dB Micro Festival resulted from the Decibel team partnering with music-culture publication XLR8R to put on nine different shows featuring groundbreaking artists such as Richie Hawtin, John Talabot, Thugfucker, and many, many more.
It’s extremely exciting that an event like Decibel Festival, which has been a part of the Seattle scene since 2003, is taking a more active and consistent role in the community. While the majority of the shows are restricted to those of legal drinking age, the Richie Hawtin performance at The Neptune and Shlohmo’s gig at Neumos are open to all comers.
If you’re interested in procuring tickets, they are on sale now through the Decibel Festival’s website. We’re extremely excited to experience the electronic art that’s being presented, and it’s only making us more stoked for the full event this September. Let us know which of these shows you’re planning on attending in the comments, Facebook, or Twitter.
