Deadmau5 and Steve Duda continue to resurrect the BSOD legacy with the release of their hour-long mix No Way, Not Another Mix, Get Real. Arriving just weeks after the duo’s drop of their No Way, Get Real EP, it’s clear no quarantine can contain their sound.
Purely electro house, BSOD’s old school pulse in this mix is addictively hypnotic. Seamlessly blending tracks new and old, BSOD transports listeners back in time to the early days of deadmau5.
Back to the Basics
Before the release of their No Way, Get Real EP, BSOD premiered it, via livestream, on deadmau5′ Mixer channel. The duo stated that their goal was to pick up where they left off, now with modern mixing and mastering. Sticking to their roots, these two creative minds have done just that. Revamping their sound to current standards, it’s refreshing to hear BSOD’s daringly minimalist style. A four on the floor beat melds into crunching rhythms, filled with strong kicks and melodic bass lines. This is the mix. It’s catchy. You like it.
Diehard BSOD fans will hear throwback tracks such as Lollercoaster (Kinda Funny Mix) and Super Breakfast. Near the middle lies Chicken from WTF?, revisiting BSOD’s old collaboration with Tommy Lee and DJ Aero. While we love hearing this nostalgic track, we’re hoping it’s a foreshadow to future WTF? collaborations. Find the full track list for this electrifying mix below!
