Closing Out Datsik’s Ninja Nation Tour with the Final Stop in Vancouver

Billed as the “Official Ninja Nation After Party” we had no expectation of who would show up as the lineup featured local talent from Digital Motion DJ Bullet Bill and Mystery Guests. Our saying of “ALWAYS trust in the after party” pushed us once again to journey beyond the main event and see what the rest of the night would hold. Red Room’s in house PK Sound rig was the perfect place to host the after party and when we arrived it felt like we’d never left The Vogue at all. Bullet Bill was already in the zone dropping dubstep bangers and with the night going till 4am we knew there was lots more to come.

Stepping in around 1am Phonik Ops (of Kytami) hit the decks with Virtual Riot following shortly after. Met eventually by Crizzly, the two would put together some B2B action before the final mystery guest, and ninja master himself joined. The next 2.5 hours would feature a massive B2B2B set from the entire Ninja Nation crew. From a sold out crowd of roughly 1200, to a club nearly half that size, this was no doubt a treat. It’s not often you get an opportunity to catch an artist like Datsik in such an intimate setting, let alone a massive lineup like this one. At this point you could clearly see the 3 had spent nearly 2 months together on the road and this was their time to let loose, celebrate and have fun. We’ve spent a lot of time at Vancouver’s Red Room, but this show was without a doubt the best night we’ve ever had there!

The Ninja Nation Tour will definitely be one for the memory banks and one that may take place as a favorite of 2017. From the sold out show at The Vogue Theatre, to the sold out after party at Red Room, we’d been given nearly 12 hours of nonstop bass. Worth noting on this stop is the joint effort from Blueprint and Digital Motion on putting together both shows. Blueprint’s after parties typically find themselves back at their flagship venue, Celebrities, but Digital Motion’s home at Red Room was certainly a perfect fit for this one. We’re really looking forward to seeing what the two have in store for the rest of the year and hope they collaborate on more events in the future.

Lastly we’d like to extend a massive congratulations to Troy, Valentin, Christopher and the entire Ninja Nation team on a job well done. With sold out shows all across the country, countless necks broken, and nothing but the best for their fans, this tour was a banger. The Shogun Stage went well beyond our expectations and allowed Datsik to put on much more than show…it was an experience.

Each opportunity we’ve had to catch Troy has been one we remember, and while there’s no official confirmation, we expect to see him later this year at Shambhala. Be sure to be on the lookout for full main event and after party albums from both Digital Motion and Blueprint! If you had a chance to catch the Ninja Nation Tour, give us a shout in the comments and tell us what you thought!
