Highlighting one of the best years dance music has had in the mainstream, the Grammys saw many of our favorite artists take home some serious hardware. From Zedd’s win for Clarity, to Daft Punk taking home ‘Album Of The Year’ for Random Access Memories, it was an experience that proved our movement is officially here to stay.
Even Imagine Dragons’ ‘Best Rock Performance’ winning Radioactive in contained elements of electronic production, proving that the influence of EDM is pervasive everywhere you turn. To top it off, Daft Punk took the stage for their second ever television performance with legend Stevie Wonder to perform Get Lucky.

While this is the same awards show that had Bon Iver win ‘Best New Artist’ for 2012 despite releasing his first album four years previous, it still goes to show that the music we’re so passionate about is being recognized by all. Our congratulations also go out to local products Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, who cleaned up with a grand total of four wins, including ‘Best Rap Album’ (and beating out the likes of Jay-Z and Drake).
Our movement is one that started underground, and has since proven that it can successfully appeal to fans from all different walks of life. With that being so, we’re beyond excited for what dance music will bring next year if it’s anything like 2013.
