One of the reasons we love Dada Life so much is their unbridled, contagious joy. We got to ask the guys a little bit more about where that comes from, but are nowhere near fully understanding the mystery that is Dada. It’s well documented that the boys love being on stage most of all, but what drives that passion is something that happens before they even take the stage. They always have high hopes for their performances, and it shows in their ability to make their fans wild dreams come true by planning epic experiences that take place around their shows.
“We hope that everyone that comes to the Dada Land Compound forget about themselves for the night. No yesterday and no tomorrow. That’s the goal!”
Dada Life are as passionate as they are talented with producing, even going so far as to create some pretty epic tools (Sausage Fattener anyone?) and poke the bear on the subject of ghost-producing. They enjoy getting their hands on some cool technology, with perhaps one of the most prevalent instances of this being the recent attention they’ve been getting for utilizing the Subpacs.
Their passion for producing doesn’t get left in the studio, so Dada wanted a way to feel what the sound would be like on big speakers in a more compact way. We can only hope that soon we’ll get to experience the same full-body bass-y goodness that the boys do courtesy of the magical backpacks.
“It started with us talking about how to be able to produce music when we’re touring. Having only headphones doesn’t give you the experience of sitting in front of huge speakers. So we heard about this product and got in touch. And now we use all their stuff! The normal one when producing and the portable one for shows!”
We love seeing how excited Olle and Stefan are on stage, it’s beautiful to see them as happy to be there as we all are. They deny convention in so many ways, including using some interesting sound bites in their tracks just because they can. They once incorporated a fork because they had just finished lunch and have previously utilized stomach punches, arm claps, and scratches to add to the unique Dada sound. The boys love playing around in the studio and we can’t wait to see what kind of auditory horseplay that will lead to when September 20th finally arrives.
