Coachella Drops Its 2019 Lineup – And It’s The Best Yet

Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival is an institution. Beginning mainly as a “screw you!” to companies like Ticketmaster, the festival eventually grew to a monolith of arts and culture- spanning multiple weekends in April due to the overwhelming demand, and netting artists such as Beyonce and Daft Punk as their lead headliners. After last year’s stellar performances, we were all chomping at the bit to find out what they had for us this year, and we are not disappointed in the slightest!

It’s clear that the people want electronic music, and boy did they ever deliver. Looking at the just-released 2019, artists like Jauz, DJ Snake, Diplo, Aphex Twin, and Bassnectar quickly stand out. Closer examination reveals some delicious Dirtybird flavour with Walker & Royce and Fisher, and a plethora of lush house, and techno, grooves with acts like Lee Burridge, Gorgon City, Nora en Pure, Chris Lake and Hot Since 82. This year’s festival even brings in some of those lesser known weird acts like electro duo SOFI TUKKER, hip-hop princess Lil Simz (who you may remember from Bass Coast 2017!), and so many more!

Did we mention the mainstream headliners? Leading the way is the first lady of pop music Ariana Grande, rising giant Tame Impala, and what is rumoured to be the last public performance by hip-hop’s illustrious triple threat Childish Gambino.  Eccentric hip-hop giant Kanye West reportedly “walked out of negotiations” when the festival refused to accommodate his erratic requests.

Even without Mr. West, this is by far the most varied and storied lineup that Coachella has had to offer us in recent years; truly something for everyone.

Tickets are for sale on their website, and we’re betting they won’t be around for long!

Are we going to see anyone in the Valley this year? Let us know on Facebook and Twitter!
