In a surprising turn of events, fans of both The Chainsmokers, and pop-punk idols Blink-182, have a new single to look forward to. Pop punk, and mainstream EDM, are colliding at full force.
A tweet from the Chainsmokers last week makes it clear that this collaboration fulfills some of Alex and Drew’s lifelong dreams – and that they’d already made it to the studio.
Just did a session with blink182 and wrote an amazing song. We can die happy now

Matt Skiba, the lead guitarist of Blink-182, also posted a photo of some in-studio scribblings on Instagram. Could that be a potential title at the top of the page?

Fan reactions on social media are mixed. Some people are stoked that the Chainsmokers went from writing about Blink-182 (in Closer), to collaborating with them. Others don’t think the combination is going to work.
While we don’t quite know what to expect, this collaboration is a unique one. Dance music artists seem to continually be crossing generic boundaries, and we’re exciting to see where they wind up.
