Back in late May, Swedish production and DJ tandem Cazzette released a change up from their normal style with a track that gave us a new meaning to being Sleepless. It’s a deep house tune; a departure from their usual sound that could easily be described as a seamless blend of melodic progressive and edgy electro house (see Beam Me Up). Cazzette’s experimentation with deep house became an overwhelming success, as Sleepless‘ deep and sexy chords combined with vocoded croonage made it one of dance music’s tracks of the summer. Building on the success of Sleepless, Cazzette is back with another flawless deep house tune entitled Blind Heart that will soon be sung in showers worldwide.
Blind Heart‘s opening is memorable, with natural piano chords and Terri B!’s smokey, soulful vocals that give the song a much more organic feel than Sleepless. You can definitely tell the influence of Cazzette’s label mate Avicii early in the track. Blind Heart drops into a deep and groovy bassline that is complemented by maracas and bongo drums. Cazzette has thrived in all of their past collaborations with vocalists. The duo’s melodic chord progressions syngerize extremely well with vocals to produce superbly catchy and euphoric tracks. Blind Heart is no different.
If Sleepless and Blind Heart are any indication of Cazzette’s continued direction, than we couldn’t be any more excited here at Dance Music Northwest. Both tracks are certified hits. Hopefully, you didn’t get tired of all of Sleepless‘s well-deserved airplay because Blind Heart is bound to receive just as much. Cazzette is currently on a short tour of the United States, but unfortunately will not be stopping by the Pacific Northwest. You can be sure that as soon as the duo and their insane cassette tape heads are scheduled for a local performance, Dance Music Northwest will be the first to let you know!
