Seattle’s Capitol Hill Block Party is back and ready to take over the streets of Capitol Hill on July 19 & 20, 2025. Known for its fun summer energy, genre-blending lineups, and unique mix of outdoor and intimate indoor performances, CHBP is a staple of the Pacific Northwest’s festival scene. And this year, the festival is undergoing some major changes that will shake up the experience for attendees.

One thing remains the same: an amazing and diverse lineup. This year’s Capitol Hill Block Party lineup is stacked across the genres, featuring Thundercat and DJ Pee.Wee (aka Anderson .Paak), who’ll bring the funk and groove on Saturday, while Porter Robinson and the electropop duo 100 gecs take over Sunday. With a mix of electronic, indie, and experimental sounds, CHBP 2025 promises a musical weekend packed with both rising stars and established icons.
What’s New in 2025?
The biggest shift this year? CHBP is now a 21+ event. This change has sparked mixed reactions — while it allows for a more streamlined festival layout and eliminates the need for fenced-off alcohol areas, it also means younger fans will miss out on the action. In its official statement, CHBP explained that the change was made to “optimize the festival layout to enhance the customer, fan, and neighborhood experience.”
Another significant change is that CHBP is returning to a two-day format. The festival previously ran for three days, but organizers have opted to condense the schedule. While this may come as a relief to local businesses and residents who have voiced concerns over the festival’s footprint, some fans may find it disappointing to lose a full day of fun. Nonetheless, the change reflects Daydream State’s commitment to refining the festival’s atmosphere and logistics.
An Electrifying Lineup
The diverse lineup has lots to offer past the headliners. The Dare, hyperpop icon Slayyyter, R&B legend Jordan Ward, Lexa Gates, and Dora Jar round out Saturday’s biggest acts, showcasing a great mix of house, pop, and R&B-infused performances.
Sunday’s performances will highlight Yaeji’s house music fused with Korean influences, Snow Strippers’ fresh electronic sounds, girly-pop rising star Maude Latour, G Flip, Jockstrap, and more.
But beyond the big names, CHBP is known for showcasing rising stars and local talent. This year’s lineup highlights Seattle’s thriving underground electronic, hip pop, and indie scenes, with emerging acts like Taylar Elizza Beth, Aurora Avenue, Heavy Bloom, and Dining Dead set to take the stage.
The CHBP Experience: More Than Just a Festival
One of the biggest draws of CHBP has always been its ability to blend music, art, and Seattle’s vibrant nightlife into a single immersive experience. The festival’s location in the heart of Capitol Hill means that between sets, attendees can explore local bars, food vendors, and record shops, making for a more dynamic festival vibe than a traditional large-scale event.
This year, with the 21+ restriction in place, the festival will integrate Capitol Hill’s club scene even more seamlessly into the event, with venues like Barboza, Cha Cha, Wild Rose, Havana, and Neumos serving as some of the seven CHBP stages.
