Reports coming in through social media have indicated that Black Rock City has been closed until further notice. Currently vehicles are being turned around at Wadsworth and at the events entrance. The reason for the closure is due to extreme weather. Currently there is heavy rain and hail on the playa that has no signs of letting up. Accuweather.com is calling for thunderstorms into tomorrow as well.
BRC is closed until midday Tuesday due to rain and standing water. At the request of organizers, law enforcement is turning cars back.

It’s always important to be prepared for these types of events. Take the time to read our guide to festival camping, Festival Essentials, to make sure that you are prepared for whatever nature throws at you. Hopefully the weather relents soon, and everything goes back to normal.
