“This year was my first time attending Bumbershoot, so I didn’t really know what to expect. Throughout the weekend, I was greeted with great vibes and even better music! My favorite EDM performance was Zedd, plus the silent discos were a lot of fun. My favorite non-EDM performance was either Brand New or Jhené Aiko (despite her set being pushed back due to the weather).” – Isabella Young
“The beauty about this year’s Bumbershoot was how varying it was in its performers and the different atmospheres of the stages. At any moment you could be inside the Key Arena being lulled into a delirious, beautiful trance, and then walk for a few minutes and be rocking out with some distorted guitars on the #NeverTamed Stage. Being in a crowd with thousands of other people having their brains stretched apart like a Laffy Taffy by Flying Lotus’ insane monster of a set, then only 20 hours later being in a crowd with thousands of other teenagers all coming of age to the heavy and arty sadness of Brand New, was an experience that’ll be imprinted in my mind forever.” – Jess Casebeer
“‘Things I learned from Bumbershoot…’: 1.) Avoid will call at all costs. Unfortunately for Saturday dwellers it came to much surprise … or perhaps not … that the line for will call was literally wrapped around several blocks and noted over 2 hours of a wait. Did we mention it was dumping down rain as well? When returning they had ran out of 3 day wristbands (poor bf) and had to come back to will call next day anyways. Boo. 2) You wanna get on the floor to Key Arena!? Come EARLY! I can’t tell you how many people *cough, high schoolers* were really ruining the vibe trying to persuade guards to let them down or hell, just jumping over the damn railing. There’s lots of people, it’s fire code … deal with it folks. 3) Awesomely diverse festival! Seeing and chatting with the local vendors was a great insight to the great things we have available to us here in the Northwest. Also it was fun to walk around and listen to different genre music, see the art installations, or break dancing! I didn’t quite realize just how much there was to do!” – Valerie White
“2015’s festival season may be close to an end, but Bumbershoot was by the perfect way to polish it off. For the Northwest, it began with Paradiso in June, and from there it was an endless stream of fun yet exhausting weekends. It seemed only appropriate that the summer wrapped up at Seattle Center, for a festival that demanded little of us, but delivered a lot. There’s something to be said for being able to spend a festival weekend sleeping in your own bed, and then having an hours-long range to meander down the venue. Bumbershoot afforded us just that, leaving schedules open as we were free to wander from stage to stage. Musically, we had everything from Bassnectar to Cake to keep us entertained, providing just enough variety to keep everyone engaged for all three days. As we say farewell this festival season, we can rest easy knowing we closed it the right way.” – Nick Cannata-Bowman
