What is indie in it’s finest form? We believe we have just found it. LA-based producer Blunda, a multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, and music extraordinaire has perfected the indie art in his latest EP, Messages. Only his second EP of his solo career, Messages is an eclectic blend of 80s New Wave, Indie Rock, Synth Pop and much more. Subtle hints of Coldplay, Duran Duran and Neon Indian are sensed in Blunda’s music, but the unique fusion of 80s, 90s and modern-day indie elements make Messages a favorite for all generations and every listener.
Although Blunda may be unfamiliar to you at this moment, chances are you’ve heard him before – without knowing it. Two decades ago, Andy Blunda landed a guitarist spot for the late 90s band Fastball, which took off with their hit The Way. A few years after, he played keyboard and guitar for the band Paloalto, as well as other gigs over the years. After deciding to move forward with his own musical aspirations, Andy went on to compose music for many different television shows, even winning an ASCAP Award for his collaborated efforts for Discovery channel’s After The Catch.
With so many incredible experiences with music, Andy had kept a secret space for collecting and writing his own ideas, in hopes to one day explore his own musical endeavor. ‘Blunda’ is the result of putting those ideas into reality, and his latest Messages EP is his most treasured self-expression of his career thus far. Rarely is such an exceptional compilation created – but in this case, the critics agree; Messages is steadily growing recognition and pleasing the ears of indie lovers all over the world. While some experimental indie can be a bit too far-fetched to feel fully connected, Blunda’s Messages are received loud and clear. The perfect balance between futuristic sounds and the best of indie’s past, Messages is timeless, and will surely be a cherished favorite of your growing collection.
Blunda’s Messages EP is now available for purchase on Bandcamp and iTunes.
