We are always keen to hear collaborations, such as that of legendary Electro house producer Starkillers, who has been around the EDM block with the newbie, Ultra Music-signed duo Black Boots. While Starkillers has been DJing for over 15 years (he produced Pressure with Nadia Ali, if you remember that one!) while Black Boots burst onto the scene in 2012 with very little press prior to being signed by Ultra.
Sweet Surrender, out April 4th on Ultra Music, is the brainchild of these three guys. The song’s introduction lures us in with a quick build, followed by smooth acoustic guitar and the addition of vocals, courtesy of Mikey Francis, one half of Black Boots.

Black Boots must be under pressure to be original, given that they are residents at After, a relatively new Las Vegas club that prides itself on its message: it is outspokenly against the “recent trend of EDM commercialization and homogenization that has permeated Las Vegas nightclubs”.
Sweet Surrender is good for the dance floor, but it’s too run-of-the-mill to have staying power. Keep your eye on these guys though. Starkillers is playing at Tomorrowland this summer (lucky bastard) and Black Boots will undoubtedly be getting out and about for some fun!
