What? Don’t remember this one? Well this year’s breakthrough in cell phone charging technology blew us all away back in August. A group of UK Scientists have been working hard with an older concept called the “Piezoelectric Effect“. The Piezoelectric Effect describes the phenomena of Zinc Oxide nanowires encountering mechanical stress, thus generating an electrical current. Head spinning yet? Long story short, soon we all will be going to shows, festivals, or other events, and our phones will be charging autonomously via sound waves. How does that sound? Awesome, it sounds awesome.
