November: Science Shows Us That Everything Makes Music. Even Comets
ESA (European Space Agency) landed on a comet this year, comet 67P! But, what does this have to do with music? On Wednesday, November 12th, the Rosetta space craft successfully landed on a comet speeding through space. After landing, the craft started running all different kinds of tests, including measuring the magnetic waveforms emanating from the comet at 40-50 millihertz, unidentifiable by the human ear. Don’t worry though, scientists have amplified the waves so we can hear the comets beautiful voice!
