4: GET A LIBRARY CARD
It’s absolutely incredible how many resources your local library has. If there is anything you need to know, they probably have it. If they don’t, they can easily get your it for you from another library in their network. If you feel like the library system is outdated in the digital age, you’re wrong. Plenty of libraries around the country have adapted most of their collections to digital form which you can access on the go. Reading a book is the best way to connect you with alternate methods of thinking. When we asked Emerge what he would suggest for people to become more creative, he instantly responded with one of his favorite books; Mastery by Robert Green.
5: LISTEN TO YOUR BODY, AND BE HEALTHY
By no means are we saying become a vegan or do the paleo diet. What we are saying is that you need to be well nourished in the creative process, in good physical shape, and well hydrated. Nourishment has it’s obvious benefits of supplying the brain the energy to get your ideas out. It will probably be better if you had real food during the creative process rather than Redbull, potato chips, and/or a Slim Jim. Exercise helps by releasing Dopamine, Norepinephrine Epinephrine, and Serotonin, which are all neurotransmitters that increase your memory and cognitive function.
You also release chemicals called Endorphins that reduce physical pain and elevate your mood. Hydration is also a very important key to making the creative part of your body function, also known as the brain. Drinking water may seems pretty boring, but there are alternative methods that can keep you hydrated and taste great; LIKE TEA. Pinkies up, bitches.
6: TAKE A FUCKING BREAK!
Even after saying in so many ways to focus on what you want to be creative at, take a break from it when it gets really frustrating. There is a difference between being frustrated and ripping your hair out beckoning the end of days. It’s important to learn to recognize when you are at your breaking point. When you have reached that threshold, get out and take a walk. Nick Sember told us that his greatest key to making new music is being able to walk away from it, and do something completely different for a period of time. Indulge in another aspect of your passion or do something completely unrelated.
Socialize if you’re not an introvert. And take a nap! Naps are probably one of the most underutilized tools in the creative process. Let the nerves settle and the mind clear. Meditation is a great way to get yourself re-focused if that is something that works for you. When you’ve found yourself re-centered, go back to work. That’s the key to this whole exercise.
The truth is that every individual has the ability to become the best at what they want to be. Every individual can reach for the stars if they just keep trying. None of this will come easy. None of it will be instantly bestowed upon you. Only you have the power to change your life and achieve your dreams. Our hope is that this guide will get you into a place where you can truly realize your potential. Just like we have reached our potential for having listed so many cliches into one coherent thought.

Phillip was raised on so many different genres of music, it has given him a unique perspective into the ever evolving music scene. Trance music began defining his life at the young age of 14, but thoroughly enjoys any type of music equally. He sees the music as an escape from the daily doldrums of life and says music can change a persons life in an instant pulling from his own experiences. His only goal in life is to share wonderful music with people and take electronic music to a higher plain with more accountability and creating a safer environment for his friends.
