Baauer and Boys Noize were scheduled for a busy fall traveling across the United States and Canada to deliver glorious trap. However, they have just announced the cancellation of nearly all of their upcoming shows. The announcement was made via social media and subsequent updates to the tour can be seen on Boys Noize’s website.
Fans’ reactions have not been as forgiving at the artists might hope. Some comments on Facebook suggested irritation or disappointment; a few others expressed outright anger, especially comments regarding the unlikely event that an airline would refund flights purchased to see a show.
It’s not common for artists to cancel tour dates due to a need for studio time. Arguably, touring and connecting with fans is of equal or greater importance to creating music. And angering fans by canceling the tour will certainly have a price. We have to wonder if there is another reason behind the cancellation that Baauer and Boys Noize can’t -or won’t- share. Whatever the case, the shows that were scheduled in Seattle, Eugene, Portland, Spokane and Vancouver (BC) have now all been cancelled. If you were planning to attend one of the shows and now can’t, what is your reaction to this news?
