Following a month’s worth of stories discussing newly implemented rules on sound pressure levels and event times for Denver’s legendary Red Rocks Amphitheatre, there’s finally news that everyone should be able to get behind. Dance music figurehead Bassnectar, also known as Lorin Ashton, has announced his annual return to the scenic venue, and is even expanding the event to three nights in 2015. The announcement is great news for dance music fans who would’ve seen the new regulations, aimed at EDM events, as a threat to events like this for the future.
Dance music fans have answered the new restrictions, imposed by the City and County of Denver in response to complaints from nearby locals, with a petition to remove noise restrictions from Red Rocks. While the impact of the new regulations will be felt in the coming year, it looks as though bass-heavy EDM is still in play for the venue.
Bassnectar’s return to Red Rocks is an all ages event and will take place from May 29th – 31st. Pre-sale tickets will be available Wednesday, January 27th at 9 a.m. PT and public on-sale on Saturday, January 31st at 9 a.m. PT. You’ll be able to purchase the tickets via Bassnectar’s site here, and you may want to ‘get in line’ early. Last year, for the two-day event, tickets sold-out in one day. He’ll be joined by a quality cast of characters which includes G Jones, Lindsey Lowend, Benga, Nightmares on Wax, and more (including special surprise guests!).
