Bass Coast Music Festival Releases First Phase of Lineup for 2017

Returning for their 9th year to Nicola Valley, in beautiful Merritt, British Columbia, is a festival that has quickly become of of our favorites. Bass Coast is no stranger to bringing together amazing people, beautiful stages, and great musical talent. Last year, we were able to experience firsthand what so many others have told us about and we’re hear to say: They were right! Bass Coast wholeheartedly embodies the spirit of what a music festival should be, while celebrating its diverse community of music fans. With a crowd just around 3,000, the saying “We cap the tickets so you have room to dance” couldn’t be more clear. The festival cares so much about your ability to dance they even truck in astroturf for two of the three stages so you can kick off your shoes!

While we anxiously await our return to the scenic Nicola Valley for our second trip to Bass Coast, we’re pleased to share Phase 1 of their lineup. Anyone who’s been to Bass Coast before can attest to the organizer’s abilities to bring the best in local and international talent. What makes it even better is the likelihood of you not knowing every name on the lineup…and that’s fine! The festival is both about exploring new sounds and enjoying some of your favorites. We’ll be the first to admit: We didn’t know a portion of the artists on last year’s roster of artists. But we certainly left with a massive list of new favorites.

Independent exhibition of electronic music and art, Bass Coast Festival, is proud to release the first wave of artists playing its 9th edition July 7-10, 2017. Featuring a spectrum of electronic music styles from a balanced collection of well known and emerging artists, Bass Coast Festival is excited to announce the first wave of artists playing its 9th edition:

While this is just a fraction of what Bass Coast will be bringing us for their 2017 edition, we’ve already spotted so many great acts we can’t wait to catch. There’s obvious names like The Funk Hunters, Justin Martin, and of course festival co-founder, The Librarian. Then there’s other great acts like Thelem, B.traits, Smalltown DJs, Dr. Jeep, Karsa and Stagga. More than anything, this shows a great range of music and all things bass from everything funk and grime, to deep and dub.

With this year’s “Space” theme we can certainly tell you that Bass Coast 2017 will be out of this world. Tickets for this year’s festival have already sold out, but we can assure you that with a little perseverance, you’ll be able to pick one up. If you’re looking to get your Bass Coast vibes in early, don’t miss stops on the Bass Coast Mutiny Tour, with various artists stopping in Vancouver, Victoria, Seattle, and more beginning later this month.

So while we prepare for festival season (which is right around the corner), we can’t help but get excited with what else Bass Coast, and many other festivals, have in store for us this year! Be sure to stay tuned for more festival news from DMNW, as we’re just getting started. We look forward to seeing each and every one of those smiling faces on the dance floor!
