Bass Coast Music and Arts Festival announces 2024 theme: ‘REflection’

Bass Coast fans, the wait is finally over for the theme announcement of the July 12 to 15, 2024 festival. The B.C. festival’s theme is: REflection. It’s time to follow what the organizers call “the manifesto for REflection: REUse, REPurpose, REflect. This guiding principle encourages festival-goers to reimagine their relationship with expression, consumption, and the environment.”

With citizens of the world getting increasingly aware of how our consumption impacts the size of our carbon footprint, the timing couldn’t be better. Furthermore, the theme fits into the festival’s ethos quite nicely.

“REflection challenges participants to REinvent what they already have when preparing for this year’s festival season. Purchase a few new items from ethical sources and create your own mindful and sustainable style.” – Liz Thomson, Co-Founder and Art Director, Bass Coast Festival.

In past years, the festival grounds of Bass Coast have undergone complete makeovers to align with different themes. It will be intriguing to observe the specific impact of this year’s theme on the venue, especially given the fact that the organizers are encouraging attendees to reuse and re-purpose previous years. Will we see the Bass Coast decor from earlier years reimagined in 2024?

“Whether it’s fashion, art, or everyday practices, there are endless ways for everyone to get involved with this theme, from DIY fashion on any budget to finding creative uses for natural materials, Reflection invites each of us to play a part in shaping a more conscientious future.” – Andrea Graham, Co-Founder and Music Director, Bass Coast Festival.

The 16th annual Bass Coast takes place this summer from July 12 to 15. The first wave lineup has already dropped and now the theme is out, but by no means are these the last announcements. Expect to see the full lineup drop soon, alongside art installation and visual performances. Stay tuned as we continue to cover the latest news from this beautiful British Columbia festival.

Will you be attending Bass Coast 2024? Are there any acts that you’re looking forward to seeing? As always, hope to see you on the dance floor!
