Get Planning: Bass Coast Launches Full Artist + Workshop Schedule!

One of the most anticipated festivals of the season is coming close! As Bass Coast Festival is creeping towards us, space outfits are in the making, and everyone’s itching to go back to that magical valley in Merritt. Today, they launched the long awaited schedule of artist performances and workshops, and it’s time to get planning!

It’s nice to see our favourite worshops back, such as the Lighttwerkerz Twerkshop on Sunday afternoon. If you haven’t caught it before, it’s one of the highlights every year for a reason, so check it out and learn how to shake that booty! Not to mention a newer addition this year, Phoenix Rising—a panel on mental health and creativity—is a long awaited breath of fresh air.

Mental health is something that many may overlook in our scene, especially during festival season, so it’s definitely important to talk about. We are also able to play host to the famed Turntemple from Vancouver Island! Helmed by Peter Poole aka DJ All Good, a nationally ranked DMC champ and all around fun dude, is bringing his mobile scratch studio to blast off into space with us. Be sure to stop by and see what all the fuss is about!

Musically, this year caused a lot of discussions. The artists themselves are absolutely top quality, and now we get to see how it all fits together. Dirtybird extraordinaire Justin Martin will be blessing us with a 3 hour set at Slay Bay. Knowing the elusive party rocker’s penchant for unique sets, we have no idea what to expect, except that it’ll be a blast!

Fan favourite Longwalkshortdock returns to his nighttime roots this year after smashing a now famous daytime slot at Slay Bay last year. Also returning are the marathon sets that make Bass Coast so unique, including the Soul Sessions with DJ K-Tel. The SHAHDJs are also back at the Bay with their showcase of their best and brightest. Plus, who can forget the Smalltown DJs annual Best Of showcase where they lay down their favourite tunes of the year for us all!

Now this is literally just scratching the surface of this launch, the full schedule is available here!

Are we ready to get SPACED OUT? Hopefully we’ll see you in attendance this year! Who’s your most anticipated set this year? Let us know in the comments!
