This last Sunday Tim Bergling, better known as Avicii, took to the stage for his final show. He performed in front of a sold out crowd at Ushuaïa Ibiza, where he has had a residency for the last five years. KSHMR, Seeb, Albin Meyers, and the Mambo Brothers joined him for his closing party and departure.
Avicii made his announcement back in March with a letter addressed to the world. He came to the decision while traveling across America with some friends and his team. Avicii told Billboard:
To me it was something I had to do for my health. The scene was not for me. It was not the shows and not the music. It was always the other stuff surrounding it that never came naturally to me.
Avicii posted to Instagram soon after his final show. Though Sunday might of been his last performance, he is not done with the music world entirely. His Instagram post talks about how creating music is what makes him happy, and he is not going to stop now.
We support his decision to take care of himself first and foremost, but we hope we will be getting some new music from Avicii soon. For now, we wish you the best Avicii!
