On January 10 President Obama took to the stage one last time as President of the United States and delivered his Farewell Address in Chicago. The next day Chicago natives, Autograf, released a tribute song to President Obama. Autograf’s Facebook said they stayed up all night after Obama’s Farewell Address to make the song.
It seems like no coincidence the tribute song is titled Changes, for the past eight years President Obama spoke of change. The song uses Changes by 2Pac, focusing on the lyrics “to see a black president,” (which was originally, “we ain’t ready, to see a black President.”). The chorus is also used a number of times, “It will never be the same, that’s just the way it is.” After an eight-year presidency people have strong emotions about Obama leaving and someone so different coming into office.
The track does a good job of portraying the uneasiness that people are feeling. Changes (Tribute) puts a calming feeling over you while bringing up some feelings of sadness. The track makes you feel many emotions, some feelings may be what people are having as this Friday approaches America.
Changes (Tribute) shows how powerful Obama was. Not even a day passed before a tribute song is released. Check it out below for yourself.
