Rounding out the invitees to the album, trance and dance music pioneer BT takes on the second mix of the set. His discography is as impressive as it is long. He’s been a major player in the trance and dance music community for over 20 years. Hell, the guy has a Guinness World Record, has been scoring films and video games since 1999, and has released nine studio-albums since 1995.
This mix is a deserving addition to BT’s long list of quality productions. It is every BT fan’s dream, with 15 of 17 tracks being either original mixes or remixes by the 2011 Grammy nominee. He shows off aspects of his style in numerous ways throughout the mix, in the way the only BT can. So much so, that the mix sounds as if it were made to flow together originally. It also showcases his, and trance’s, successful evolution alongside electro throughout the last decade.
The mix is made up from BT tracks dating back to 1999 (Mercury and Solace, Dreaming) as well as several tracks from his most recent album A Song Across Wires. Ultimately, it’s the mix you play over and over again that always seems to finish too quickly. This is the perfect way for BT to treat his and ASOT’s fans to start the year and tops the other mixes in the album.
