With a career spanning two decades, 2018 has been a year of firsts for Armin van Buuren. In January, the godfather of trance music became the first DJ to perform while hanging upside down– not just once, but four times! In June, he will headline Saudi Arabia’s first “DJ Party.” Before an illness took its toll, van Buuren was scheduled to perform alongside W&W and Steve Aoki at the world’s first zero-gravity rave, back in February. On Sunday he reached another milestone, as he became the first DJ to perform inside of a car garage at a Formula One racing event, the Chinese Grand Prix. Check it out!

Inside the Redbull Racing garage at the Chinese Grand Prix Shanghai, van Buuren unleashed a slew of new IDs and remixes as drivers and crews conducted final preparations. While the only one dancing in the garage was Armin himself, it looked like he had the time of his life!
Who knows what other crazy ideas this trance legend has cooking, but one thing is certain: the bar for live musical performances has been raised.

You can catch Armin van Buuren right here in our backyard at Paradiso this summer, along with DJ Snake, Deadmau5, Virtual Self, and many more! Maybe he’ll have some other tricks up his sleeve.
