Apple recently announced a new service called Apple Music that will launch on June 30th. The music streaming, which takes the foreground, will fill its catalog from Apple’s current inventory. Along with this hefty playlist of over 30 million tracks, Apple Music will offer additional features which include a radio service and social media platform under the monikers Beats 1 and Connect respectively.
The radio service will be an all-hours station led by three DJs across the globe and will visit a variety of topics such as interviews, guests, and music industry goings-on as well as stream music. The Connect feature will be a platform where artists can disseminate content directly to their fans and interact with users.
Apple seems to have left nothing out, and this service is likely to be a fearsome competitor to other streaming platforms such as Spotify or Tidal. Their marketing strategy takes risk-free to the next level with a three month free trial membership which may ease users into the $9.99/month subscription. Will you be trying out Apple music the first chance you get? Or will you stick to Spotify?
