We hope you were able to catch one of Apashe’s shows last weekend in Seattle. Apashe aka John De Buck brought his brass orchestra to Seattle on December 16 at the Showbox Sodo and rocked the house!
Apashe finished off the final US stop of his Antagonist tour at Showbox Sodo to a sold-out crowd. Inside was completely packed when Apashe took the stage, who mixed in uptempo bass music with perfectly choreographed accompaniment from the band.
The support for the night was Wasiu and Ymir, with the former being featured on two Apashe songs Majesty and Human. Ymir recently signed to MonstercatUncaged, who has a popular remix of Apashe’s UEBOK and features on Contraband. Both set the main event stage for Apashe and his orchestra ensemble.

Apashe faced the audience like a professional conductor, with the brass orchestra in a half-circle formation behind him. Along with his renaissance-inspired visuals and lasers that were also mesmerizing, we felt coliseum vibes and epic/euphoric-like wonder throughout. Some of our favorite songs from the night included Devil May Cry, Gasoline, and throwbacks like Lacrimosa and Lord & Master.
Showbox Sodo is a large space that hosts many large music events, many of which are EDM. The security and staff here were super friendly and helpful at this show, which stood out to us. Although lines appeared to be long, especially right before Apashe started, they moved very quickly. We also appreciate the re-entry policy, as other venues such as WAMU and Tacoma Dome do not offer that. There is also a large bar area in the back for 21+ attendees, which offers much more room to see the show!
