Detroit-based producer and DJ GRiZ, also known as Grant Kwiecinski, is showing us all what the holiday season is about. Leading up to his headlining GRiZMAS show at Masonic Temple in Detroit on December 20th, GRiZ will be hosting activities, contests, giveaways, and releasing new new content each day, beginning today. The campaign is aiming to raise money for Little Kids Rock, an organization that trains public school teachers and donates all of the instruments, curricular resources, and support they need to ensure children get the chance to try their hand at music-making.
GRiZ has set up a page on his website with all of the information, including how to buy tickets to the event, how to follow the gifts each day, and how to donate to Little Kids Rock. Everyone who donates to the campaign will be entered to win two tickets to the GRiZMAS show plus a GRiZ prize pack. He’s promised a ‘big surprise’ today, and we can’t wait to see what GRiZ has in store for the debut of the 12 Days of GRiZMAS. He knows how to put on a good show and there’s no doubt he’ll be bringing the funk this GRiZMAS.

DAY 1: GRiZMAS has begun, and boy did he start it off in style. On this, the first day of GRiZMAS, GRiZ has given the world the debut single off of his upcoming album, A Fine Way To Die. The tune features Orlando Napier and, although it’s been played at shows over the past few months, we’re happy to finally have it free to download. DAY 2: For today, the second day of GRiZMAS, the funk master gave us all something we can apply to our other holiday gift giving events. New GRiZ ‘swoop logo T’s‘ are now available to purchase online, and will be 20% off leading up to the GRiZMAS show at Masonic Temple in Detroit, as will all merchandise in the GRiZ online store. DAY 3: On the third day of GRiZMAS, GRiZ is continuing to utilize his time in the spotlight to do as much good as possible. He’s beginning the #ShowLoveSpreadLove contest, the winner of which will receive their own song produced by the man himself. You can enter by sharing a pic or story about how you’re helping out others, and making the world a better place, on Twitter or Instagram, using ‘#ShowLoveSpreadLove’. DAY 4: The love and passion for creativity never stops with GRiZ, and he shows that with his gift to the masses on the fourth day of GRiZMAS. Over at the GRiZMAS page of his site, GRiZ has made available a free digital art pack. DAY 5: On the fifth day of GRiZMAS, we are given a wonderful treat from the man himself. GRiZ has offered up his best holiday funk playlist for us to enjoy as we count down the 12 Days of GRiZMAS. Don’t forget to enter the daily GRiZMAS contest, where you like, share, report, and tag your friends to enter to win a pair of tickets to GRiZMAS, or a GRiZ merch prize pack! There are two winners announced each day, and all of the work and effort is to raise awareness and money for Little Kids Rock!
DAY 6: We might as well call GRiZMAS GIVEmas, because GRiZ is continuing to give away awesome gifts, artwork, music, and contests for great prizes (and all in the name of a great cause!). On this, the sixth day of GRiZMAS, we are given the opportunity to win one of two GRiZMAS sweaters! All you have to do is share a picture of yourself wearing an ugly holiday sweater on Instagram or Twitter with ‘#Grizmas’. Winners will be announced in Monday December 15th at 9 a.m. PT.
DAY 7: We’re a week into counting down the 12 Days of GRiZMAS, and there’s no sign of slowing down anytime soon. GRiZ announced that, on the seventh day of GRiZMAS, that there will be a ‘Liberator’s Coat Drive’ at his GRiZMAS show in Detroit at The Masonic Temple this Saturday. Participants who bring new and gently used coats, sweaters, and sweatshirts will receive a raffle ticket for a chance to win GRiZ merchandise in exchange for their donations. What a freaking awesome idea. We love GRiZ and hope that the spirit of the 12 Days of GRiZMAS inspires similar giving this holiday season, and beyond. DAY 8: On the 8th day of GRiZMAS, GRiZ continues his trend of loving and communicating with his fans by holding an AMA via Twitter! DAY 9: It is the ninth day of the 12 Days of GRiZMAS, and the fun contests and awesome giveaways just keep coming. Today GRiZ announced that he would be holding a cookie contest via Twitter and Instagram for a chance to win two tickets to the GRiZMAS show at The Masonic Temple in Detroit on December 20th, or a merchandise prize pack! DAY 10: To celebrate double-digit days of GRiZMAS, GRiZ is hosting a caption contest for the picture posted below. The prize is the final two tickets GRiZ will be giving away for his upcoming show at The Masonic Temple in Detroit this Saturday, which is sold out!
