Trance legends Above and Beyond are collaborating with rising stars Spencer Brown and RBBTS on a fresh new single. This is the group’s first collaboration in nearly a decade, hot on the heels of their fourth studio album Common Ground. The track has been confirmed to be A Long Way from Home, due for release November 30th via Anjunabeats. The trio teased the track at ABGT 300 in Hong Kong early in October alongside four other originals and a remix of a 2011 track. Seeing as the group’s last collaboration was 2010’s Anphonic with Kyau & Albert this is a welcome arrival.
Upon the first listen, A Long Way From Home has A&B’s signature uplifting trance vibes with its chill tones and soaring chorus. However, the drop stands out as especially energetic. Female vocals stand out and give a distinct house sound to an otherwise classically trance track. Needless to say, we eagerly await the full release of the song and its addition to A&B’s distinguished catalog. At this time there are no dates announced for a PNW visit, but their last Seattle appearance at Resolution 2016 was warmly received, and their 2012 appearances in Vancouver BC are fondly remembered by many Canadian ravers.
(Correction: an earlier version of this article stated that A&B last performed at Q Nightclub in Seattle, apologies for the error)
