The Gorge Amphitheater is arguably one of the most iconic venues in the world and is without a doubt known for its scenic landscape, stunning location, and reputation for attracting some of the most talented artists in the music industry. All of this is easily available to festival goers by making just a short trip from Seattle.
Taking a trip back in time to 2017, the British Trance trio Above & Beyond celebrated the 250th edition of their weekly radio show Group Therapy at the Gorge. With the venue leaving such a lasting impact on them, they announced an inaugural Group Therapy Weekender, which only looks to bring all attendees right back to the enchanting memories and overwhelmingly positive vibes of what went down in 2017 throughout ABGT250. With the lineup announced and the stage set, there are so many things to consider as you prepare for the weekender and DMNW is here to break them down for you.
Camping
Planning is absolutely essential for traveling to the Gorge. Most importantly, it is always key to have all your supplies and food ready to go before you begin your journey. Tents, sleeping bags, lights, portable cooking kits, and food supplies are all key things to have at this event. If you’re planning on arriving on Friday, make sure to get there early enough to get set up before the sun goes down so light will not be an issue and you can comfortably get settled in for the weekend. There are no light posts in the main campgrounds, so it can be almost pitch black once it gets dark.
Tons of water and solid supply of food is what will maximize your enjoyment of the weekend. Temperatures will reach over 90 degrees for the weekend and can give off a desert type of heat that many festival goers might not be used to. It’s definitely vital to stay hydrated! Bringing easy foods to cook like basic breakfast items (if you choose to make food yourself) and sandwich supplies are a must so that you can stay energized throughout the weekend as well.
Additionally, one of the most vital things for the weekend is to prepare for the chillier evenings at the Gorge that will be the norm throughout the event. The temperature always drops significantly after the sun goes down, so plan accordingly and bring sweatshirts/jackets as needed.
Anjunafamily
One thing that Anjunabeats is outstanding at is attracting some of the best crowds in dance music. With multiple meetups occurring throughout the event from every state possible (download the Anjuna Weekender app for more info), Anjuna fans always come out in full force. Good vibes and all the feels will be the general attitude of the weekend. Get ready to make new friends and cultivate relationships that can last long after the events ends.
This year, the event will also have additional activities for everyone to enjoy. Whether you want to take a hike around the Gorge, or do some early morning yoga sessions, the weekend will not be lacking with things to fill your time with. Not to mention the pregame camping that take place around the grounds. The vibes will be full of love and everyone will be ready to share them with you as part of the Anjunafamily.
